Section 2 of the Proceeds of Crime (Civil Confiscation) Act, 2008 (Cap. 298) (hereinafter referred to as the “principal Act”) is amended by — (a) repealing the definition of “police officer”; (b) inserting in alphabetical order the following new definitions — (i) “law enforcement officer” means a duly authorised officer of the law enforcement agency; (ii) “law enforcement agency” has the same meaning assigned to it in the Anti Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Act 2020, (Act 5 of 2020).” Amendment of section 9 Cap 209 3. Section 9 of the principal Act is amended in subsection (1) by repealing the words “police officer” and substituting with “law enforcement officer”. Amendment of section 23 Cap 209 4.
