ASCENSION REVISED EDITION OF THE LAWS, 2017 FAMILY, EDUCATION AND WELFARE MARRIAGE (ASCENSION)(VALIDATION) ORDINANCE, 20181 Ordinance A4 of 2018 In force 13 November 2018 No subsidiary legislation has been issued under this Ordinance. ________________________ MARRIAGE (ASCENSION)(VALIDATION) ORDINANCE, 2018 AN ORDINANCE to transfer powers and functions under the Marriage (Ascension) Ordinance, 2016, to the Administrator of Ascension; and to validate the functions performed by the Administrator under that Ordinance. Short title 1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Marriage (Ascension)(Validation) Ordinance, 2018. Validation of functions performed by Administrator 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 4 of the Marriage (Ascension) Ordinance, 2016, any person who held the office of Administrator of Ascension on or after the date that the Marriage (Ascension) Ordinance, 2016, came into force, is deemed to have had all the powers of the Registrar of Marriages under that Ordinance and all functions performed by the Administrator as Registrar of Marriages from that date are valid for all purposes. _____________________ 1 Under section 10 of the Revised Edition of the Laws Ordinance, 1999 this text is authoritative and is the sole authentic edition in respect of the law contained in it as at 13 November 2018.
