Statute overview

About this statute

This section amends section 1 of the principal Act by adding, deleting, and replacing several definitions. Employers may register voluntarily, and a registered employer becomes a contributing employer from the first day of the month after notice of registration is received. Registered employers may tell the Board they want to withdraw registration, and affected contributing employees may apply to have their accumulated benefits dealt with under the cited sections. Section 14 of the principal Act is repealed. This section replaces subsection (2) of section 16 and says a contributing employer must not cease to be a contributing employer, except as provided in subsection (1) or section 13.
