About this statute

The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development may establish offices of State Attorney. The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development may appoint a fit and proper person as Solicitor-General, subject to public service laws. The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development may establish prosecutors' offices to support efficient and effective performance of the functions mentioned in article 3. This section lets the Minister appoint and manage the Prosecutor-General, Solicitor-General, State Attorneys, and other necessary staff, subject to public service laws and specified qualifications. The offices of State Attorney perform government legal work, may do similar work for provincial administrations on agreed terms, and the Minister can direct or delegate certain powers.
