Statute overview
About this statute
If a birth notice is given more than one year after the birth date, the birth cannot be registered unless the notice meets the prescribed late-registration requirements. If a death cannot be certified in the usual way, a person who was present at the death or later learned of it must give notice in the prescribed manner, and the section 4 person must handle that notice under the prescribed procedure. A new subsection says subsection (1) does not apply if the alteration was authorized in the prescribed manner under a witness protection plan. This section states the short title of the Act.
