The Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Rules, 2023

1. These Rules may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Rules, 2023 and shall be read as one with the Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 1922, hereinafter referred to as the “principal Rules”. Commencement

2. These Rules shall come into operation on the 1st July, 2023. Amendment of rule 6

The principal Rules are amended in rule 6 by deleting subrule (1) and substituting for it the following: “(1) For the registration of the birth of any child, where such birth occurs in any area prior to the date of the extension of compulsory registration to such area by order under section 27- Birth (a) Registration of the birth of any child for any period up to 3 months……….
