The Transport Licensing (Private Hire Services) (Amendment) Regulation, 2021

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (Private Hire Service) (Amendment) Regulations, 2021 and shall be read as one with the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (Private Hire Service) Regulations, 2020, hereinafter referred to as the “principal Regulations”. Amendment of regulation 2

2. The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 2 by deleting the words “below fifteen” and substituting for it the words “not more than thirty”. Amendment of regulation 20

3. regulation 20 by- (a) adding The principal Regulations are amended in immediately after the word “that” appearing in the opening phrase the words “the vehicle”; (b) deleting paragraph (a); (c) deleting paragraph (c); (d) deleting the word “carried” appearing in paragraph (e) and substituting for it the words “a vehicle carries”; and (e) renaming paragraphs (b) to (e) as paragraphs (a) to (e) respectively. 4. 5. The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 22 by deleting the word “allowed” appearing in the word subregulation (1)(a) and substituting for “permitted”. it

The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 27 by- (a) adding the following new paragraph- “(f)” in case of special hire, be liable to a fine of not less than Tanzania shillings two hundred thousand but not exceeding Tanzania or imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or both; hundred shilling five (b) deleting the word “and” appearing in paragraph “(c)”; and (c) adding the word “and” at the end of paragraph “(e)”.
