The Registration of Documents Act

1. These Rules may be cited as the Registration of Documents (Amendment of Schedule) Rules.

2. The part of the Schedule to the Registration of Documents Ordinance prescribing fees, as amended from time to time, is hereby further amended by deleting items 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 thereof and substituting therefor the following new items- “1.(a) For the registration of a transfer, conveyance or assignment (other than that of trust property from a trustee to a trustee or from a trustee to a beneficiary or a transfer incidental to the reconstruction of a company or the amalgamation of two or more companies) of an interest in land or for the registration of a lease- Where the consideration or value does not exceed Shs. 500/- 5/- Where the consideration or value exceeds Shs. 500/- but not Shs. 1,000/- Where the consideration or value exceeds Shs. 1,000/- but not Shs. 2,000/- Where the consideration or value exceeds Shs. 2,000/- but not Shs. 5,000/- Where the consideration or value exceeds Shs. 5,000/- but not Shs. 10,000/- Where the consideration or value exceeds Shs. 10,000/- but not Shs. 20,000/- Where the consideration or value exceeds Shs. 20,000/- Shs. 10/- 20/- 30/- 40/- 50/- 60/- (b) For the registration of any mortgage or charge of an interest in land Where the amount or value secured does not exceed Shs. 10,000/- Where the amount or value secured exceeds Shs. 10,000/- but not Shs. 20,000/- Where the amount or value secured exceeds Shs. 20,000/- but not Shs. 30, 000/- Where the amount or value secured exceeds Shs. 30,000/- 30/- 40/- 50/- 60/- 194 ©2025 Government of Tanzania. 2.(a) For registering any other document to herein otherwise expressly provided for- (b) For registering any document of which the registration is not compulsory-

4. For inspection of a particular document- (a) where registration reference is supplied by applicant (b) where it is not 5/-

5. For uncertified copy of any document in the custody of the Registrar, or of any extract therefrom or of any plan-

6. For certifying copy of any document or extract therefrom or copy of any plan

7. For certified translations into English of German documents- where the documents contain 100 words or part thereof in any other case, for every 100 words or part thereof 20/- 35/- 30/- 30/- 15/- 5/- 10/- 10/- Fee shall not be charged for registering a document or supplying a copy of a document or plan at the request of the Government.
