Statute overview

About this statute

This Act may be cited as the Wattle Bark Industry Act. This section defines key terms used in the Act, including Director, factory, Minister, processing, wattle bark, and wattle bark industry development area. The Minister may declare any part of the country to be a wattle bark industry development area by notice in the Gazette. Wattle bark must not be processed in any factory in a wattle bark industry development area unless that factory is licensed; an existing factory gets a three-month grace period after the area is declared. Factory owners in a declared wattle bark industry development area must apply to the Director for a licence within three months, and the Director may issue the licence with conditions.
