About this statute
This section gives the Act’s short title. This Act applies in Tanzania Zanzibar and Mainland Tanzania. This section says the Act’s procedure applies when the President wants to divide an area into a region or district, or change its boundaries. The President must issue a notice before dividing an area into a region or district, or changing region or district boundaries. A notice of intention under section 4 must be published in the Gazette and at least one national newspaper, and if available, in a newspaper circulating in the affected area.
