Statute overview

About this statute

Members must elect one of their own as Vice-Chairman of the Board. Board members serve for the period set by the appointing authority, or for three years if no period is specified, and may be re-appointed. A Board member who holds office by virtue of another office may, if unable to attend a meeting, nominate another person from their organisation in writing to attend for them. If a member leaves office early, the appointing authority may appoint someone else, and the replacement serves for the rest of the original member’s term. The Board must meet four times a year, and the Chairman or Vice-Chairman handles special meetings and presiding duties. Non-members may be invited to take part in discussions, but they cannot vote.
