Statute overview

About this statute

The Board must choose one of its members to be Vice Chairman for four years, and that person may be re-elected. Board leaders and members are appointed for fixed terms, with one re-appointment only, and a member may resign by written notice to the appointing authority. The Board may co-opt a person to attend and take part in Board deliberations if the Board thinks that person’s presence is desirable, but that person cannot vote. The Board must meet every three months, and the Chairman or Vice Chairman handles convening meetings in the stated cases. A Board member may stop being a member if certain conditions occur, including bankruptcy, conviction of a criminal offence, failure to declare a conflict of interest, inability to perform duties due to ill health or impairment, breach of ethics, or failing to attend Authority meetings.
