About this statute

This Order may be cited as the Public Health (Prevention of COVID - 19) (Requirements and Conditions of Entry into Uganda) Order, 2020. Defines terms: "medical officer", "medical officer of health", "medical practitioner" and "operator" for this Order. A medical officer of health must examine any person arriving in Uganda for COVID-19 and may board arriving vehicles, aircraft or vessels to examine persons on board. A medical officer of health must hold in isolation any person suffering from COVID-19 after examining them under paragraph 3, at a place designated for that purpose; paragraph 4(2) applies to persons transiting Uganda or lacking immigration authority and requires removal or exit at their expense at the end of isolation or quarantine under paragraph 6. A medical officer of health may decontaminate or arrange decontamination of a vehicle, aircraft or vessel if it shows clinical signs of COVID‑19 contamination or the officer has information that it is contaminated.
