About this statute

This Order may be cited as the Public Health (Prohibition of Entry into Uganda) Order, 2020. From Monday 23rd March 2020, any person is prohibited from entering Uganda and from introducing any animal, article or thing into Uganda through any border post. Vehicles, vessels or aircraft conveying cargo into or through Uganda shall not have more than two persons on board, except aircraft may have only crew. A medical officer of health has the power to examine for COVID-19 any person on board a vehicle, vessel or aircraft allowed entry into Uganda and may board such conveyances to do so. A medical officer of health may, on examination, hold in quarantine or isolation any person on board a vehicle, vessel or aircraft suspected of or suffering from COVID‑19; a person so held must at the end of the quarantine or isolation period be removed from or exit Uganda at their own expense.
