Statute overview

About this statute

This Act gives the Executive powers to build, maintain, and alter Metro works, acquire and use land, and carry out related street and underground railway works. The Executive must follow approval, notice, construction, safety, pollution, and compensation rules before and during the specified works, and the Secretary of State has power to authorise proposed level crossings. The Executive may carry out certain works and drainage-related actions, but water discharge into a relevant authority’s sewer or drain needs that authority’s consent and approved plans.
