§1164. Insolvency of employer; employee's rights against insurer If any employer carrying insurance against liability under this Chapter is or becomes insolvent, or if any execution upon a judgment for compensation against him is returned unsatisfied, any person entitled to payments may enforce his claim against the insurer of the employer to the same extent that the employer could have enforced his claim against such insurer had he made such payments, any provision contained in any policy or agreement of insurance written after January 1, 1915, to the contrary notwithstanding. And the making of accrued payments to the person entitled thereto, in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter, shall relieve such insurer from liability.
