§125.1. Electronic device; transfer A. Prior to the sale of surplus electronic devices, any political subdivision of the state is hereby authorized to transfer surplus electronic devices to a nonprofit entity that is certified by R2 Solutions or the e-Stewards Initiative. When used in this Section, "electronic device" shall mean a device or a component thereof that contains one or more circuit boards and is used primarily for data transfer or storage, communication, or entertainment purposes, including but not limited to desktop and laptop computers, computer peripherals, monitors, copying machines, scanners, printers, radios, televisions, camcorders, video cassette recorders, compact disc players, digital video disc players, MP3 players, telephones, including cellular and portable telephones, and stereos.
