105.1012. Commission's duties to establish life insurance plan — with payroll deduction by participating employees — plan to be based on competitive bidding — bid to include cost of administration. — 1. The office of administration shall establish and administer a voluntary life insurance plan for the employees of the state of Missouri. Participation in such plan shall be by a specific written agreement between such employees and the state which shall provide for the payroll deduction of such amount of compensation as requested by the employee. Participating employees shall authorize that such deferrals be made from their wages for the purpose of participation in such plan. 2. Funds held for the state pursuant to a written payroll deduction agreement between the state and participating employees may be invested in such life insurance contracts as are approved by the commissioner of administration. All such insurance plans or policies to be offered pursuant to this plan shall have been reviewed and selected based on a competitive bidding process as established by such specifications and considerations as are deemed appropriate. The bid shall include the costs of administration incurred by the office of administration in implementing sections 105.1000 to 105.1020, which shall be borne by the successful bidder.
