9-7-17. Substance abuse education fund. There is created the "substance abuse education fund" which shall be controlled by the agency. All money collected or received under the state laws for the purpose of substance abuse education shall be paid over to the state treasurer to the credit of the substance abuse education fund, and the fund shall not be transferred to another fund. The money in the fund shall be used for the purpose of providing additional funding for substance abuse educational programs in the local school districts. The drug abuse agency, in coordination with the state department of public education and local school boards, shall: A. develop and provide funds for substance abuse education curricula and materials for the public school system; B. provide substance abuse educational programs to public school staff, parents and students; and C. assist local schools in developing student and faculty support and intervention groups.
