Special District Local Laws Code § 3833.005

Sec. 3833.005. PURPOSE; DECLARATION OF INTENT. (a) The creation of the district is essential to accomplish the purposes of Sections 52 and 52-a, Article III, and Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and other public purposes stated in this chapter. (b) The creation of the district is necessary to develop, encourage, and maintain employment, commerce, economic development, and the public welfare of residents, employers, employees, and consumers in the district and adjacent areas. (c) Except as provided by this chapter, the creation of the district may not be interpreted to relieve the city from providing services to the area of the district. The district is created to supplement and not to supplant the city services provided in the area of the district. Added by Acts 2005, 79th Leg., Ch. 468 (S.B. 1892), Sec. 1, eff. June 17, 2006.
