Statute overview

About this statute

This is the preamble and title of the law on electronic identification and trusted services in electronic transactions. This article says the law regulates electronic identification, electronic signatures and seals, registered electronic services for court and other procedures, qualified certificates, and trust services for electronic transactions and documents. This article says the law applies to electronic identification schemes and trusted service providers in electronic transactions, but not to trusted services used within a closed system or limited participant circle, or to verification of contract validity and other procedural legal obligations governed by other laws. This article defines key terms used in the law on electronic identification and trusted services. Trusted service providers or electronic identification service providers must apply the applicable law when processing personal data. Use of pseudonyms for representing parties in electronic transactions is not prohibited unless a regulation, contract, or other arrangement says otherwise.
