31. Application of the Defence Act (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Defence Act, the provisions of Parts I, II, III, V, VI, VII, VIII and XI of that Act shall apply to the Home Guard and to the members of the Home Guard— (a) when the President has ordered the employment of the whole or any part of the Home Guard under section nineteen; or (b) when on duty pursuant to any other provisions of this Act.
