Statute overview

About this statute

People holding offices listed in the First Schedule must be paid a prescribed salary and special allowance. Office holders listed in the First Schedule are to be paid an electricity allowance and a water allowance. Some office holders are entitled to a housing allowance at the annual rate set in the Second Schedule, unless they are occupiers of Government-provided housing. The holder of an office listed in the First Schedule may receive allowances not mentioned in this Act if eligible to receive them otherwise than under this Act. This section repeals the Constitutional Offices (Emoluments) Act, 1981.
