3. Subsection (3) of section two of the principal Act is a.mended- (a) in sub-paragraph (i) by the deletion of " Kl2,800 " and the substitution therefor of " Kl 7,628 "; and (b) in sub-paragraph (ii) by the deletion of " Kl3,300" and the substitution therefor of" K22,000 ". Amendment ofaeotion 3

4. Section three of the principal Act is amended in para­ graph (a) by the deletion of " K480 " and the substitution therefor of " K792 ". Repeal and rep1acement ofaeotion 4 Constituenoy and other allowanoee

5. Section four of the principal Act is repealed and the following section replaced therefor:

4. (1) There shall be paid to an elected member of the National Assembly a constituency allowance calculated- (a) in the case of a member returned by a constituency specified in Part I of the Second Schedule, at the annual rate of K2,400; and (b) in tho case of a member returned by a constituency specified in Part II of the Second Schedule, at the annual rate of Kl,200. (2) There shall be paid to a nominated member of the National Assembly, who is not a Member of the Central Committee, an allowance in lieu of a constituency allowance, calculated at the annual rate of K840. (3) There shall be paid to a Member of the Central Committee of the Party an allowance in lieu of a consti­ tuency allowance, calculated at the annual rate of Kl, 120. (4) There shall be paid to a Member of the Central Committee of the Party, a Minister and Junior Minister- (a) an electricity allowance at the annual rate of K720; and (b) a water allowance at the annual rate of K480. 6. Subsection ( 1) of section five is amended- (a) in paragraph (a) by the deletion of "KS,400" and the substitution therefor of" Kl0,760 "; and (b) in paragraph (b) by the deletion of" K2,800" and the substitution therefor of " K5,200 ". 7. The First Schedule to the principal Act is repealed and the First Schedule set out in Appendix I hereto is substituted therefor.

8. The Third Schedule to the principal Act is repealed and the Third Schedule set out in Appendix II hereto is sub­ stituted therefor.
