Statute overview

About this statute

This section gives the Act its short title and says it starts on a date appointed by the Minister by statutory instrument. This section defines terms used in the Act. This Act does not apply to certain colleges, including registered technical/vocational colleges, accredited colleges of education, and colleges established by or under written law. This section establishes the Higher Education Establishment Authority as a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal, and gives it power to do what a body corporate may lawfully do, subject to the Act. The Authority controls its seal, the Director-General keeps it, and specified officials must authenticate its use.
