Zambia National Public Health Institute (Amendment) Act, 2026

2. Section 5 of the principal Act is amended by the deletion of subsection (1) and the substitution therefor of the following: (1) There is constituted the Board of the Institute which consists of the following part-time members appointed by the Minister: (a) a representative each of the ministries responsible for — (i) health; (ii) animal health; (iii) agriculture; (iv) water and sanitation; and (v) local government; (b) a representative of the Attorney-General; (c) a representative of the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit; (d) a representative of the Occupational Health and Safety Institute; (e) a representative of a civil society organisation engaged in public health; (f) a representative of academia from the private sector with knowledge and experience in matters relating to this Act; and (g) one person from the private sector with knowledge and experience in public health or a related field. 3. Paragraph 3(4) of the First Schedule to the principal Act is amended by the deletion of the word “Six” and the substitution therefor of the word “Seven”.
