This section gives the Regulations’ short title: they may be cited as the Human Rights Title commission (Practice and Procedure) Regulations, 2002. This section defines key terms used in the complaints procedure, including assessment, complaint, complainant, Complaints Committee, and respondent. Complaints must be submitted in Form 1 and signed or thumbprinted by the complainant. The Secretary must acknowledge complaints in writing within 7 days. If a complaint is late or outside the Commission’s jurisdiction, the Secretary must advise the complainant within 21 days. The Secretary must advise the person complained about within 14 days after receiving the complaint, and must acknowledge receipt of that person’s response within 7 days after receiving the response.
