Statute overview

About this statute

This section gives the short title of the Regulations and begins the preliminary provisions. This section defines key terms used in the regulations on sanctions, terrorism, proliferation, and asset freezing. These Regulations apply to several categories of people and entities, including designated persons, suspected terrorism-related persons or entities, reporting entities, supervisory authorities, and anyone doing something covered or prohibited by the Regulations. The Minister may nationally list a person or entity. The Centre must submit information, direct reporting entities to freeze assets, notify the listed person or entity, publicise the listing, circulate the list, and review it annually. A national listing expires one year after it is made unless renewed. The Minister may renew it before expiry if the Regulation 4 circumstances continue to exist.
